This is my center column with styled font
this is the future of website development . . . . Pure css (cascading style sheets) and xhtml (Extensible HyperText Markup Language) for page layout, meaning there are no tables nor font tags enabling web sites to become up to 50% smaller for fast downloading and having consistent layout.
this page will display properly in any resolution in any window size. The font size is scalable so vision impaired visitors can set their browser font size to largest and the page layout still stays together.
And with more surfers using newer browsers some of the larger websites have adopted this concept. Companies such as Wired.com, ESPN.com and FastCompany.com as well as one of my favorite sites, Sitepoint.com and they offer a book on table less design with css (which I have not yet looked into)
the best part about using CSS is the control you have over the elements of the page and the ability to make changes. You just make your changes in the style sheet and have it reflected in 100 pages or more of your site since each individual page is linked to the one style sheet.
